i  was looking for a b r e a t h of a life, for a little touch of heavenlylight
but all the choirs in my head sang "no" ! to get a dream of life again,
a little vision of the start and the end but all the choirs in my head sang "no" !
WHOSE SIDE AM I ON ?

For a moment the test is simply in his hand and his eyes are fixated on the verdant number and the minor ticks of scarlet noting incorrect responses. Sure this was forged, he thinks for half a moment. But deep down he knows for as lazy of a student Usagi could be she was no cheater. It was also true she had passed on an ice cream date to study–which he had chalked up to her getting lost in the void of video games and napping.
Mamoru had been so consumed by shock he had to quickly recover his gaze, seeing Usagi begin to deflate. There’s just a soft chuckle at first which forms in to a grin. The gesture is honest and it’s plain to see how proud he is of her. Normally when the blonde would demand ask for a reward he would groan (although she ultimately got her way) but this was for sure a special occasion.
“Well then. I suppose this does deserve a nice reward. Okay, Usako. I’ll even let you pick the place for dinner.”
she squints upon noticing that mamoru is taking a little bit too long to take a look at her exam, arms cross over her chest as she leans forward. usagi thought that he knew her well enough to not even consider the hypothesis of her ever cheating ( she’s only stuck to throwing them away or hiding them under her bed ! ), however, she was starting to doubt her own beliefs as she carefully studied his features without saying a word. however, once their gazes meet & he smiles at her the small fit of rage bubbling inside of her suddenly dissipates seeing as she’s more than THRILLED to finally being able to live up to his expectations & make him proud. celestial orbs light up once he agrees to take her on a date, hands clasping together in sheer excitement & eagerness to spend more time alone with him. “ pick a place ? … —- me ? “ she echoes, blinking a few times. “ no way, mamo-chan ! – you have to pick it, it’s supposed to be a SURPRISE. “ man, for someone so smart & cultured he sure can be a bit dense sometimes.
she had decided to go to the public library to actually study by herself & try to be responsible for once, however, the blonde ended up falling asleep on top of the manga comic she had bought on the way there &, not to mention, drooling all over it. it’s the thought that counts, right ?
There was of course no question as to who was affectionately calling his name and rushing toward him without hesitation. He sideways glanced at the pedestrians who were only briefly disturbed by Usagi. After a sigh he smiled and blue hues focused on the blonde.
“Hmmm, did you beat your high score on Sailor V?” He joked with a soft chuckle.
she would normally be offended by his first inaccurate guess, however, the pigtail haired girl was so thrilled right now she didn’t want to pick a fight. “ noooo !~ “instead she just goes through her schoolbag only to pull out an exam with her name & a POSITIVE grade on it, lips curving into a wide toothy grin as she holds it up for mamoru to see. “ i passed my most recent school exam so now you have to reward me & take me on a date. “
“Yes she did…I can cook small things but I can’t really make big things like Makoto-san can.” Ami explained watching as Usagi began to devour the food infront of her, chuckling softly she too bit into it but not as much as Usagi did. “It’s good right? I told Makoto you’d love it.”
the bunhead’s eyes practically twinkled with delight as she stuffed her face with the delicious dish both of her friends had prepared for her, dropping her chopsticks to place her hands on her cheeks & have a bit of a dramatic yet appreciative moment. “ i’m so lucky to be friends with both of you ! “
“Well yes and no, I made it at my apartment but I had a little help from a mutual friend.” Ami said referring to Makoto, Ami couldn’t cook to save her life so of course she would’ve went to her dear friend. “I’m glad you think so, Makoto will be happy to hear that.” The blue haired bookworm said, that smile remaining on her face.
“ mako-chan helped you ? “ the blonde blinks incredulously. she didn’t know the bluenette didn’t know how to cook, this might sound bad but it actually just means she thinks very highly of ami & didn’t think she could possibly be as bad as her & minako when it came to the kitchen department ( which she probably isn’t ). “ either way i’m sure it’s gonna taste as good as it looks ! “ she says before happily digging into her meal as if she hadn’t eaten in a week. “ man, i wish i was as gifted as mako-chan when it comes to these things. “ she muses aloud with a full mouth.
“Oh, well –” The comment caught her slightly off guard for a moment, head tilting as she regarded the girl curiously. Haruka had learned that she wasn’t very adept at talking about anything important, or confessing her true feelings on certain things - or about certain people. So she shifted a bit awkwardly, rubbing the back of her neck as she shrugged. “She’s just busy with preparing for a concert, is all…” She glanced over to where the crumbled paper ball had rolled off to after being kicked, a smirk tugging at her lips. “Another bad grade, then?”
it wasn’t her intention at all to make haruka uncomfortable, however, it was quite amusing to see their roles be inverted even if it’s for a short amount of time seeing as the taller girl was usually the one putting usagi in a bashful state. however, she just gives the other a genuine smile in hopes that it would make her feel more at ease but also because it makes the princess happy to know the other has someone she cares about DEEPLY enough to do things she doesn’t like that much for them. “still. – that’s very nice of you, haruka-san. “ she assures. although her smile soon falters & a rush of blood is sent to her cheeks once haruka TEASES her about the situation she had encountered her in. “ d-don’t make fun of me ! “ she grumbles, azure gaze drifting away out of embarrassment.
“Haha same old Usagi, you never change. But then I suppose we can eat something now, we have been going at it since this morning.” Ami said, grabbing her bag she digged through it looking around for the two lunchboxes she made. Once found she pulled them out with ease, placing one of them infront of the blonde. “There you go.”
awkward laughter echoes ami’s, porcelain cheeks tainted a bright shade of crimson because deep down she wishes she had the power of will to take her studies more seriously & make everyone proud as opposed to being so lazy. the blonde observes her friend carefully as she goes through her bag, eyes glimmering & widening at the sight of a second lunchbox. “ ami-chan you packed lunch for me ? “ probably because she knows usagi well enough to have guessed she had sneakily eaten hers early in the morning, nonetheless she smiles gratefully. “ you are too good to me ! “ she exclaims, opening the obento container eagerly. “ all of this looks delicious, did you make it yourself ? “
“We pretty much have the same mindset then. You want to celebrate without anyone stopping you & I’d prefer if I could read in peace. So think about it, would a library be an ideal place to holler and shout? Be courteous of everyone around you please”. The most of aggravated disdain was clearly presented over his face. It was so painful whenever anyone tried acting smart only to boost their ego. “That may be, but yelling is a huge distraction, and last I knew, I used my ears to listen to my surroundings miss”.
she’s at a loss of words for a few seconds mostly because she can’t seem to come up with a good comeback which has her bubbling with frustration on the inside, usagi doesn’t know who this boy is but he sure does remind her of mamoru when they first met. eyebrows furrow as she crosses her arms over her chest, it’s not her fault she felt the immediate need to share these WONDERFUL news with ami-chan who happened to be at the library but he did have a point. “ okay, you’re right. – i’m sorry. “ she admits quietly although her pride is currently very SORE. she grows silent for a couple of minutes before curiosity gets the best of her, the blonde finds herself peeking over at the moody stranger once again. “ what are you reading that’s so important & requires so much focus, anyway ? “
it isn’t typical for the pigtail haired girl to take the bus home, however, seeing as she did live a bit far away from the hikawa shrine & she had managed to save up a bit of her allowance this month she decided that it would be okay to engage in a change of route today. she just didn’t expect the vehicle to be so full to the point where she couldn’t move, which explains why she accidentally bumped into this unknown man trying to squeeze in & secure herself. “ oh, sorry ! “
“Excuse me can you please settle down? I’m glad you passed a test but I’m trying to read over here”.
“ jeez, can’t a girl celebrate the fact that she’s not going to face the wrath of her dragon-mother when she gets home this one time without being interrupted ? “the blonde side-eyes the bothered male attentively. “ i don’t know much about books unless they’re manga but i know for a FACT that you don’t need your ears to read. “ this girl practically overflows with wit.
